This specific podcast is about how to learn a new language. It is an extension of the 5 – minute language blog. There are 3 episodes in total, and this is the first one. The speaker will introduce 1 tip in each episode. The first one is about identification of the goal for us to learn a language.
The speaker highlighted that we need to have (a) specific and smart goal(s) in learning a language. She used a 2 cases to illustrate nonspecific goals. For example, the speaker stated that she will be going to Japan on March. It is not specific for her to learn Japanese language because she just wants to go to Japan and communicate with the local people. To be specific, she can learn the language for talking about herself like where’s she from or what’s her name. Also, she will be able to ask her conversational partner the same questions and able to understand. After setting the goal(s), she will mark it down to remind herself.
I choose this one because its short, the voice – over is clear and I am interested in the topic of learning a new language. This tip is cool. The speaker has well elaborated the tip with 2 examples in 2 different situations. One situation is about learning Brazilian Portuguese because business partner is from Brazil. The other situation is about learning Japanese for travelling. I enjoy listening to this podcast. Maybe I would listen to the other 2 episodes when I have time.
